You don’t always win those pitches, but this was one we wanted to share as it was a bold idea – maybe before its time.
The Challenge: Develop a programme/idea to run for 22 months to promote ‘Suffolk Tourism’ to include food drink, culture, festivals, walking, cycling, maritime activities, business tourism, package breaks for families and singles as well as the four key Suffolk destinations of Ipswich, Suffolk Coast. Heart of Suffolk and West of Suffolk. Goal: Drive Suffolk tourism to increase visits.
The Big Idea: The idea was to create/build a campaign around something unique to Suffolk, the thought ‘Suffolk Air’ and the proposed strapline and call-to-action was ‘discover something beautiful‘. The big driving force was to be across social media. Backed up by PR, poster, sponsorship and press campaigns. These would be both local, UK and international wide. Make visitors feel at home, enjoy the experience and share that experience. This one would have been a cracker.
